Rusty Hamer was an American actor best known for his role as Rusty Williams in the popular ABC/CBS situation comedy Make Room for Daddy. A deadpan, freckle-faced, curly-haired child actor of the late 50s, Rusty Hamer entered films at age 5 and became a precocious TV celebrity the very next year, trading quips with top comedian Danny Thomas as his lippy, obnoxious son. The talented kid had become an awkward teen and the offers dried up, immediately. He left Hollywood and came back only once, for Make Room for Granddaddy in 1971. The show was not successful, and nothing else came his way. The aimless, embittered man left for good this time and his life quickly fell apart. Left with no job skills, he had extreme difficulty finding direction, consequently living a wanderlust lifestyle, taking jobs that ranged from work on oil rigs to work in cafes. He became poverty-ridden, causing him to spiral into deep depression and, eventually, alcohol abuse, which led to an increasingly violent and delusional state. He shot himself to death January 18, 1990 at the age of 42

Rob Knox was an English actor who portrayed the character of Marcus Belby in the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 2009 and had signed to appear in the planned film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2010. He died while defending his brother from an attacker. His death was caused by stab wounds from a knife during an attack outside a bar in southeast London. He died May 24, 2008 at the age of 18.

River Phoenix was an American actor, musician and activist. He was the older brother of Rain Phoenix, Joaquin Phoenix, Summer Phoenix and Liberty Phoenix. His work encompassed 24 films and television appearances, including the science fiction adventure film Explorers in 1985.His death occurred after speed-balling cocaine and morphine. He collapsed outside of The Viper Room nightclub, while then owner Johnny Depp was performing onstage with the Red Hot Chili Peppers's Flea, and the Butthole Surfer’s Gibby Haynes. As news circulated through the club about Phoenix's collapse outside, the show stopped, but he was never revived. With him at the time were his brother, Joaquin Phoenix, as well as friends Johnny Depp and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was rushed to the hospital and died October 31, 1993 at the age of 23.

Norman 'Chubby' Chaney was an American child actor, notable for appearing in 19 Our Gang comedies as "Chubby" from 1929 to 1931, and the films Pups Is Pups, Bear Shooters and School's Out in 1930. He died from complications that arose from a surgery to correct a glandular disorder on May 29, 1936 at the age of 21.

Michael Cuccione was a Canadian child actor, singer, dancer, author, and cancer research activist. When he was only 9 years old, he was diagnosed with 2A Hodgkin's Disease. He recovered from two bouts of the cancer, but was left with permanent damage to and around his heart and lungs due to the massive doses of treatment he received. Matthew Garber was a British child actor, best known for his role as Michael Banks in the 1964 film Mary Poppins. He also starred in two other Disney films, The Three Lives of Thomasina and The Gnome-Mobile. He contracted hepatitis whilst in India in 1976/77 he said he had eaten "bad meat" there and died from Haemorrhagic Necrotising Pancreatitis on June 13, 1977 at the age of 21.

Lucille Ricksen was an American motion picture actress during the silent film era. She was known for Edgar, the Explorer in1920, Edgar's Little Saw in1920 and Behind the Curtain in1924. She fell extremely sick during a filming and was subsequently diagnosed with tuberculosis. She died two weeks after her mother, who had kept vigil on her ailing daughter, suffered a fatal heart attack at her daughter's bedside. She died March 13, 1925 at the age of 14.

Dorothy Dell was an American film actress. She won the most beautiful baby in Hattiesburg beauty contest when she was thirteen months old. Winning the Miss New Orleans title, when she was fifteen, she went on a Fanchon and Marco vaudeville tour for six months. She got a job with the Ziegfield Follies of 1931 when she arrived in New York City. She sang a solo, "Was I Drunk?” in the production. All of her films at Paramount were released in 1934. She died in an automobile accident on June 8, 1934 at the age of 19.

Christopher Pettiet was an American television and film actor best known for his role as Jesse James in the Western TV series The Young Riders and as Zach Crandell in the cult comedy film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead in 1991. After the cancellation of The Young Riders, his acting career began to wane and he became just about impoverished, living on small residual checks. Brad Renfro was an American actor and musician. He died from a heroin overdose on January 15, 2008 at the age of 25.

Bobby Driscoll was an American child actor known for a large body of cinema and TV performances from 1943 to 1960. He starred in some of The Walt Disney Company's most popular live-action pictures of that period, such as Song of the South in1946, So Dear to My Heart in1948, and Treasure Island in1950. He served as animation model and provided the voice for the title role in Peter Pan in1953. In 1950, he received an Academy Juvenile Award for outstanding performance in feature films. He had trouble finding work as an adult, eventually started to use drugs and moved to New York City. He fell off the grid in late 1967 or early 1968. The former Disney star that grew up in front of the cameras was found in a New York tenement and went unidentified at the time of his death. It wasn't until two years later, when his mother began inquiring about his whereabouts, that it was discovered the star of Song of the South was buried in an unmarked grave in Potter's Field. He died March 30, 1968 at the age of 31.
