DESCRIPTION:Kicking things off are Melissa and her mum\, Hari\, who brin
gin a novelty party piece that's lost all impact. They're hopingthat Pete
Woods can drum up a solution. The portable kitbelonged to Hari's adored da
d\, Alfred. Both Hari and Melissahave memories of Alfred playing the drum
kit at family partiesand him teaching them to learn how to play. Alfred's
love ofmusic has been passed down to three generations – hisdaughter Har
	i\, his granddaughter Melissa\, and hisgreat-granddaughter Lottie\, who is
fascinated by hergreat-grandad's set of drums. Having been played since t
he1940s\, this travelling kit has been left seriously worse forwear. Afte
r enlisting the help of bookbinder Chris Shaw torepair the case\, Pete has
the daunting task of making not onebut two missing pieces. Hari and Melis
sa are hoping thistreasured set can make some noise again so that both the
happymemories and the fun can continue. Next to the barn are MariaButler
and her daughter Selena\, with a family heirloom thoughtto be 175 years o
ld that sadly is in two pieces. The pair arein need of painting conservato
r Lucia Scalisi's skills torestore this striking oil painting of their fem
ale ancestor. Ithas been kept in the family since it was painted in around
the1850s\, and Selina and Maria have never seen this depiction oftheir an
cestor in its original\, whole state. One part of thiscrumbling painting h
ad been concealed behind the other and wasonly recently discovered when th
e family decided to have itreframed for Maria's mother's 90th birthday. Du
ring therestoration of the piece\, Lucia uncovers hidden secrets aboutthe
lineage of the family's female line and returns thecompleted painting to a
delighted Maria and Selena. Teddy bearladies Julie and Amanda are tackli
ng the next repair\, which isof a quirky patchwork hippo\, brought in by s
iblings Millie andGeorge\, that belonged to their late mum\, Becky. The hi
ppo waswell loved by Becky and became a key feature in Millie andGeorge's
childhoods too. Becky had always wanted to get thehippo repaired\, but she
died suddenly in an accident before itcould be completed. It's up to Juli
e and Amanda to help fixthis cuddly animal in danger\, which has not only
lost itsdefining features but is falling apart at the seams. With theirdad
Steve\, George and Millie turn up to see if their latemum's hippo has bee
n restored just as she would havewished. Lastly\, Barbara and her grandda
ughter Giovanna arehoping expert shoe restorer Dean can preserve a pair of
babyshoes to keep alive the story of a wartime hero. The shoes weregiven
to Barbara's father and Giovanna's great-grandfatherNorman by the family o
f a little girl he rescued whilst servingin the British Army in the Nether
lands towards the end of WorldWar II. The shoes were worn by Barbara as a
child\, and thenall her children learnt to walk in them. Dean sets aboutpr
otecting the history of the tiny shoes\, which are in need ofa mammoth rep
air\, ready to return them to Barbara and Giovannain memory of Norman
