DESCRIPTION:First into the barn is Jessie\, accompanied by grandparentsD
iana and Percy. They've brought an item that's entertainedfour generations
of their musically talented family. Jessie'sgreat-grandfather played in a
band in the 1920s and strummedthe little ukulele in a rowing boat around
a lake to impressJessie's future great-grandmother when they were courting
. NowJessie is keen for king of strings\, luthier Julyan Wallis\, tobring
the ukulele back to life so that she can continue itslegacy. The fix is li
ke a surgical procedure for Jules\, whoneeds to bolster a crack from the i
nside of the instrument aswell as fix its ornate central rose.Next\, it's
a soft toy SOSfor Amanda Tatchell and Julie Middleditch\, courtesy of Nico
lafrom the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. Parsley was a present fromNicola's d
ad when she was just five years old. As a child\, shewasn't given many pre
sents\, so Parsley\, who sits astride ametal bike and pedals when pushed\,
has remained very dear toher. By her own admission\, Nicola ruined Parsle
y when shepainted his face with lipstick\, something she instantlyregrette
	d. Since her father passed away in 2020\, Parsley hastaken on even greater
significance for Nicola. Now the toyneeds a massive makeover to get him b
ack to his former glory\,but as usual the Bear Ladies relish the challenge
.The finalvisitors to the barn are father and daughter Carlo andAlessia\,
with a little reminder of family life back in theirancestral homeland of I
	taly. It's a 1960s split-flap clock madein Carlo's mother's hometown of Ud
ine that horologist SteveFletcher needs to get flipping again. Working wit
h plastic andmid-century mechanics means Steve is well out of his comfortz
one reviving this retro but much-loved timepiece back to itssparkling best
	.
