In the last quarter-final, the four best chefs from thisweek's heats come together to compete in two challenges set byjudges Anna Haugh and Marcus Wareing. To earn the last twoplaces in the semi-finals, the chefs must show off theircreativity in an invention test, then prepare food for some ofthe UK's most hard to please food critics. Only the mostexciting culinary talents will continue in the competition.Inthe first challenge, the judges set a pastry Invention testwith a twist: the dessert must be based on a savouryingredient. Next to the classic pastry ingredients in thelarder, the chefs have cheeses, bacon, vegetables, chilliesand herbs to build their dishes around.Then, the chefs faceone of the toughest rounds of the competition.
