Saturday Night Livereturns to television next week after itsholiday hiatus, and they're bringing a Golden Globe winneralong with them for the ride. The show announced today that TheMarvelous Mrs. Maiselstar, Rachel Brosnahan will make her SNLhosting debut on January 19 alongside musical guest Greta VanFleet.

Lucille is deeply concerned by the living conditions of herelderly patient Clarice Milgrove. SisterHilda faces a steep learning curve when a newly arrivedGhanaian family are found to be afflicted with a mysteryillness.Elsewhere, Violet Buckle determines to serve hercommunity by running for local councillor. But Fred is not sopleased, convinced that his Civil Defence Corps work will bemore beneficial to the area than any life in politics.

Vera is confronted with the tragic scene of a teenage boy'smurder. His body is found in a shipyard in the sleepy coastaltown of Peyton-by-the-Sea. As he isn't recognised locally,it's not immediately apparent who he is. Eventually, MissingPersons records reveal that troubled Caden Lennon had abscondedfrom the care of his support worker six weeks previously. Withfew leads thrown up by the Newcastle estate where Caden camefrom, Vera looks to the Peyton locals to throw some light onthe investigation. Beneath the quaint facade she discovers thatthere is a growing drugs problem. But, with local dealer TonyBriggs now apparently going straight, it's not clear why. Verabegins to question whether Caden's connections to Newcastle andPeyton run deeper, and whether the lack of leads points to aring of silence with darker forces at play. Vera must uncoverthe missing link to find Caden's ruthless killer.
