One of his campmates there carved a likenessof Chris's grandfather out of soap, which Fred brought backwith him to the UK when the war ended. It has been since passeddown to Chris. Kirsten has her work cut out, having neverrepaired a bar of soap in her career, and once she has workedout a replacement for the missing soap parts, she has thedelicate task of resculpting Fred.
