After repairing the damagedbodywork, Julyan needs to restring and tune the mandriola torestore its original sound. Tim and Maggie are overjoyed whenthe item is returned to them, unlocking a piece of theirfather and friend's past.Next, expert weaver Sarah has herhands full with two pint-sized pieces of furniture belonging toMamta Rajani. These unique chairs are woven from memories ofMamta's childhood with her sister and parents in Tanzania. Theywere at the centre of family gatherings and outings whenexploring the rich African countryside. After being brought tothe UK following the sad passing of her parents, Mamta needsSarah's skills to repair these childhood treasures so that hergrandchildren can use them, just as she, her sister and herown children did. The chairs pose an interesting challengebecause Sarah must work out how to create new plastic-coveredcane, which the chairs were originally made from. Afterenlisting the help of Dominic Chinea, who creates a new toolespecially for the job, Sarah weaves new life into thesebeloved chairs.Third to walk through the barn doors are Roddyand his mother Anne Lloyd Jones, who are hoping master hatterJayesh Vaghela can restore a precious memento of Anne'shigh-flying husband Trefor. This captain's cap clocked upthousands of miles at the vanguard of domestic aviation beforeits retirement from the skies 40 years ago. Anne met Trefor asa stewardess when he was a young navigator, and both witnessedthe aviation industry transform with the introduction of theBoeing 747, which Trefor captained for 11 years. For Anne,the cap is a reminder of the man who gave her decades of happymarried life, and for Roddy, it symbolises his heroic father.Jayesh has the delicate task of returning it to its formerglory, so that Trefor's memory can live on.Lastly, Linda andher son Matthew Bracey have an exciting repair for pinballextraordinaire Geoffrey Harvey – an American retro raritythat belonged to Linda's husband and Matthew's father, Chris.Known as ‘the Neon Man' and ‘the Godfather of Neon', Chrischanged the face of Soho with his neon artistry signs andbrought his love of Americana into his work. Chris dreamed ofowning an authentic American pinball machine, and afterfinally acquiring this one, he placed it proudly in thestudio, where his family and customers could share in hispassion. Geoff's repair of this mammoth machine involvesmeticulously dismantling every cog and circuit to find out whyit went dark. Linda and Matthew hope that Geoff can light upthis beloved machine to keep Chris's memory alive through thegame he loved.

Annette on her trip was given a Dutch doll from herhost family that became a symbol of a happy and peaceful time.However, years of wear and tear have left the doll needing alot of TLC. After enlisting the help of woodworker Will tocarve her some new clogs, Amanda and Julie find her lost eyesinside her head and get her looking as beautiful as Annetteremembers.Rebecca Davis arrives at the workshop hoping masterhatter Jayesh can work his magic on an iconic hat that hailsall the way from Egypt. As a young girl, Rebecca had afascination with Tommy Cooper and his infamous fez. On a tripback to Egypt visiting family, Rebecca's stepfather broughther an authentic fez, which she treasured. Jayesh has thetricky task of restoring the beloved hat. After addressing themoth-eaten holes and staining, he must reinstate the iconictassel before handing it back to an excited Rebecca.Lastly,it's a first for Kirsten as she restores a sculpture made outof soap, carved in a prisoner-of-war camp in Thailand duringWWII. Chris Cooke from Devon is hoping ceramics expert Kirstencan revive this unusual heirloom. Chris's grandfather Fred wasin the Manchester Regiment and was posted to Singapore, butwhen the Japanese invaded, he was sent to Thailand as aprisoner of war. One of his campmates there carved a likenessof Chris's grandfather out of soap, which Fred brought backwith him to the UK when the war ended. It has been since passeddown to Chris. Kirsten has her work cut out, having neverrepaired a bar of soap in her career, and once she has workedout a replacement for the missing soap parts, she has thedelicate task of resculpting Fred. Once finished, an emotionalChris is reunited with this important piece of his familyhistory.

Keith's fatherDesmond went blind in his thirties due to a hereditary diseasethat runs in the family called Stickler syndrome. Desmond neverlet his condition stop him and retrained in his field so hecould continue his career in engineering and welding afterbecoming blind. Upon retirement, after 21 years of loyalservice, Desmond was presented with a personally engravedbraille watch from his company and wore it every day for over30 years. Steve takes on a new challenge with the watch,making a hinged case so that the glass top can be opened, andthe wearer can feel the braille dial to tell the time. Keithand Kirsty want to repair the watch in honour of Desmond'sinspiring resilience and to pass it onto Keith's granddaughterand Kirsty's daughter Phoebe, who is also blind.Next in arebrother and sister Zaff and Nasari, with an item holdinglong-buried memories of their family's life in Uganda. Thesiblings need help from electrical expert Mark Stuckey withtheir father's vintage projector, which was used to showcasefamily videos. When their family was forced to flee the countryin 1972, Zaff and Nasari's father brought the preciousprojector with them to Rochdale, where they eventually rebuilttheir lives. After almost half a century of being unused, Zaffand Nasari hope to restore the projector to working condition.Allowing them to relive never-before-seen treasured memories oftheir childhood in Uganda.Noodworker Will Kirk welcomes ZoeBlake-James and her grandmother Rowan, with a family heirloomthat has been passed down four generations of women in theBlake-James family, making it over 130 years old. The vintagefire screen originally belonged to Rowan's grandmother, andshe has fond childhood memories of it being used in the familyliving room. Zoë is a student of Victorian literature and hasa great passion for researching this era and her family'shistory. The pair would love to preserve the fire screen forfuture generations. Will gets cracking with the wooden frameand enlists the help of textiles conservationist RebeccaBissonnet to tackle the delicate embroidered screen.The finalpair to walk through the barn doors are celebrated veteransinger-songwriter Ralph McTell and his friend Matthew. Theyneed the expertise of leather expert Suzie Fletcher to helprepair a tattered old toy that has been earmarked for arevival. Ralph was involved in a children's programme calledAlphabet Zoo in the 80s, where he wrote a song for everyletter of the alphabet. A friend gave him the leather kangarooas a gift to celebrate the song Kenny The Kangaroo. As aresult, Kenny appeared on stage with Ralph at venues like theRoyal Festival Hall. Ralph met Matthew at his local pub. Aswell as working at the pub, Matthew also works with childrenwith special needs doing music therapy, where he began usingRalph's songs in his class. The children were captivated by thesong Kenny The Kangaroo. Ralph was moved by this and offered todonate his leather friend to the school, but it cannot beenjoyed by the children in its current condition. Suzie has herwork cut out in repairing this 70s stuffed toy from downunder, whose once robust leather is now cracked and split.When the pair return, they are delighted to see Suzie has beenable to get Kenny leaping back into action again, so Matthewcan use him in his therapy sessions with the children.

The broken, silver ring belongedto Halina's mother, Janina, who was born in Warsaw, orphanedat just 13 years old and taken in by a convent close to theJewish ghetto in the city. She was given the ring as a thankyou from a Jewish woman after she risked her life passing foodthrough the fence to families imprisoned in the ghetto. Thering, Janina's most treasured possession, stayed with herthroughout her life, and was given to her daughter, Halina,when she passed away. Now broken, and severely worn, it'sHalina's wish that the ring be turned into a pendant, so shecan keep her mum, who displayed remarkable courage in the faceof great adversity, close to her heart. Next to arrive isGordon Craik with his sons, James and Ross. They've broughttwo intriguing pieces of sporting history for the attention ofsilversmith Brenton West. The pair of heavy, outdoor curlingstones, complete with their wicker baskets, originallybelonged to Gordon's grandfather and were famously used byGordon's father in his team's victory of the Grand Match of1979 – a huge outdoor curling match held on the Lake ofMenteith near Stirling. Having sat outside for many years, thestones are worn, their handles bent, and the wicker basketsaren't fit to hold their weight. It's Gordon's dream to handthe stones that hold so much sporting and family history to hissons, both of whom are champion curlers in their own right.Brenton sets to work, bringing in the skills of leather expertSuzie Fletcher and basket weaver Sarah Hatton to get thesestones back to their best. Next, woodworker Will Kirk isgiven the task of repairing a cherished character fromchildhood. Tracey Emery has brought in a wooden chef figurinethat's sadly been fire-damaged in an unfortunate accident athome. The wooden chef used to sit on the counter of hergrandparents' pub - it reminds Tracey of her beloved grandad,Ralph, and a happy childhood full of family Sunday lunchesgathered at the pub. Tracey's dad, knowing how much thefigurine meant to Tracey, was full of guilt after the accidentand tried to have the wooden chef repaired, but it was the onething he was unable to do before he sadly passed away. Willsets to work, to see if he can complete the task Tracey's dadso desperately wanted to finish, restoring the wooden chef'splace in Tracey's kitchen and preserving memories of herbeloved grandad and dad. Last in the barn today is SonamBatra, hoping paper conservator Angelina Bakalarou can give apiece of cinematic and family history the red-carpet treatment.Sonam has brought a vintage film poster of Bollywood filmSholay. It's a reminder of the Sundays Sonam happily spent withhis dad and cousins at the local cinema in Leamington Spa, andit's also where he learned to speak Hindi and Punjabi, simplyby listening to Bollywood actors on the silver screen. Now tornand faded, Sonam discovered the poster whilst clearing out hisdad's house after he passed away. Angelina sets out to restorethe film poster's star quality, reviving Sonam's memories ofhis dad and the many happy hours spent with his family in daysgone by.
