CBS has confirmed that the long-running crime procedural The Mentalist will be concluding after its upcoming seventh season. The show will kick off its final season on Sunday, November 30, where it will air new episodes through December. In the new year, episodes will move to Wednesday nights starting on January 7. A special 2-hour finale will air on Wednesday, February 18 to conclude the series.

CBS has announced that the first season of Scorpion has been topped up to a full 22 episodes. The network has ordered nine new episodes on top of the original issue of 13 after a strong start for the series over its first five weeks. Scorpion is one of this fall's top new shows, ranking as the #2 new series and Monday night's most-watched drama with an average of 15 million viewers.

The freshman drama is off to a decent start over its first five weeks, ranking as Sunday night's most-viewed scripted broadcast with 13.5 million viewers. The initial 13 episodes ordered for Madam Secretary has now been expanded to a full 22 for the season.

The CW has announced that it has ordered a full season of The Flashafter an impressive start to its run. The superhero drama's debut earlier this month was the most-watched series premiere in the network's history with 6.1 million viewers in Live + 3 ratings. It also leads The CW's roster in the adults 18-49 demographic over its first two episodes. The initial 13 episodes ordered for The Flash will now be expanded to a full 22 for the season.

The official Z Nation Twitter account has announced a second season renewal for the freshman series. Syfy's new post-zombie apocalypse drama, currently at the halfway point of the season, has gotten off to a solid start in the ratings since its debut last month. New episodes are currently airing Friday nights with the first-season finale expected in early December. No details have been released yet regarding a time frame for the show's Season 2 return.

FOX has announced that it has topped up the first season of Gotham to a full 22 episodes. The network has ordered six new episodes on top of the original issue of 16 after a strong start for the series over its first three weeks. Gotham is one of this fall's top new dramas, so far performing strongly in its Monday night time slot. The series premiere was also FOX's top fall drama debut in 14 years when factoring in Live + 7 ratings.

FX has announced that American Horror Story will be renewed for a fifth installment. The news comes days after its most-recent premiere set a record as the most-watched telecast in the network's history. FX has ordered 13 episodes for the series' next installment, which will premiere in October 2015. The current season, American Horror Story: Freak Show, is currently airing Wednesdays through January.

CBS has cancelled Unforgettable after three seasons, marking the second time the network has axed the show. The first cancellation came after Season 1 in 2012 but the network ended up reversing its decision shortly after and brought it back as a summer series in 2013 where it fared better. Season 3 aired in the summer once again this year but ratings dipped, likely factoring into the decision not to continue with a fourth season.

Freshman comedy Working the Engels has been cancelled after one season. The Canadian-based series, which starred Andrea Martin, was a collaboration between U.S. and Canadian entities - the first of its kind for a sitcom. NBC pulled Working the Engels from its schedule today, cutting its debut run short after just five episodes. Canadian broadcaster Global Television, which aired season one in its entirety earlier this year, announced that the show has been cancelled up north as well, citing low ratings as the primary reason.

Showtime announced that Masters of Sex has been renewed for a third season. The cable network has ordered 12 new episodes of the sophomore drama for a likely return in summer 2015. The Emmy-nominated series is currently at the midway point of Season 2, with six episodes remaining before its season finale on September 28.

The drama has continued to perform well for the network in its second season, averaging 5 million weekly viewers across platforms and seeing recent episodes hit season-high ratings. 12 new episodes have been ordered for Season 3 of Ray Donovan. Production is expected to begin in early 2015, with a likely premiere in the summer.

HBO announced that The Leftovers has been renewed for a second season. The freshman drama premiered in late June, airing new episodes Sunday evenings where it has delivered fairly healthy ratings over its first seven weeks. The show's 10-episode first season is scheduled to air its finale on September 7. No announcement has been at this time made regarding a time frame for Season 2.

It was announced by USA Network that Suits has been renewed for a fifth season. The drama is currently airing Season 4, where it is averaging nearly 4 million total viewers for the cable network as well as continuing to be in the Top 10 summer scripted series in key demographics. USA has ordered 16 new episodes of Suits for summer 2015.

ABC announced that summer series Black Box has been cancelled after one season. The mental illness drama aired 13 episodes between April and July but struggled to draw significant viewership over the course of its run. Its premiere episode garnered a healthy 1.5 in the adults 18-49 demographic, but numbers fell to less than half that by the time its finale aired.

Mr. Garner, who smoked for most of his life, even after open-heart surgery in 1988, had suffered a stroke in 2008. He appeared in more than 50 films, many of them dramas. His one Academy Award nomination was for the 1985 romantic comedy “Murphy’s Romance,” in which he played a small-town druggist who woos the new-in-town divorced mom (Sally Field) with a mixture of self-reliance, grouchy charm and lack of sympathy for fools. Rest in peace, Mr Garner.

The drama has continued to be a solid performer for the cable network, with its current third season seeing a small increase in viewers over last season, with an average of 7 million viewers (Live + 7) so far. 15 episodes of Major Crimes have been ordered for Season 4, which will likely return next summer.

TNT announced that Falling Skies has been renewed for a fifth season. The network also confirmed that the series will end after Season 5, which will conclude with 10 final episodes. The sci-fi drama, which tells a story of life and survival after a catastrophic alien invasion, is currently airing its fourth season, which runs through August. The show's final season will likely return in June 2015.
