Brian Jones was the founder and original band leader of the Rolling Stones and fans around the world were wearing black when they heard of the death of wildly inventive guitar player who was found on the bottom of his pool. The coroner’s report read “death by misadventure” on Jones’s death certificate. His heart and liver were found to be enlarged from years of abuse. However, Frank Thorogood, a construction worker employed on Jones’s estate, was rumored to have killed Jones after a dispute. He died July 3, 1969 at the age of 27.
