The Affair is an American television drama series about a struggling novelist and a young waitress that strike up an extramarital relationship that promises to forever change the course of their lives. The network announced that the show has been renewed for a third season. The critically-acclaimed drama has maintained strong viewership in its sophomore season, helping it rank as one of premium cable's top scripted series. No word on the number of episodes ordered for Season 3.
