ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that. Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. CBS has cancelled freshman comedy Partners effective immediately. The struggling series never really found an audience on the network, delivering sub-par ratings up until this past Monday, where it delivered a series-low 1.8 in the adults 18-49 demographic. SYFY has announced that Haven will return for a fourth season. The network has ordered 13 new episodes of the supernatural drama, which will return in 2013. The series has continued to be a strong performer in its third season, so far averaging its best ever ratings in the Adults 25-54 demographic. NBC announced on the 8th that its new drama, Chicago Fire, has received a pick-up for the remainder of the 2012-2013 season. USA Network has announced that its longest running original drama, Burn Notice, has been renewed for a seventh season. On the air since 2007, the series has remained one of the network's top shows, and will be its third ever to reach the 100 episode mark. “Burn Notice is like a fine wine that gets better with age,” said network Co-Presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel. “Delivering high-octane action, gripping drama and nearly 7 million viewers for the mid-season finale, this veteran series is a proven staple of our portfolio.” The second half of the show's sixth season returns tonight with a special two-hour episode, and will continue through to the end of the year. It is being reported that USA Network has decided against renewing Fairly Legal for a third season, making it the second show cancelled by the network this week. New series Common Law was also axed. Fairly Legal never fully lived up to its potential on USA. The network attempted to re-tool the show after a lacklustre first season, but the changes were not enough to warrant a season 3 pick-up. FX announced yesterday that Wilfred has been renewed for Season 3. The network has ordered 13 new episodes of the comedy for next year. The Elijah Wood-starring series premiered in 2011 and has so far aired two 13-episode seasons, with Season 2 concluding late last month. Season 3 of Wilfred is pegged for a June 2013 return. NBC announced today that it has picked up freshman series Revolution for a full season. The sci-fi adventure drama is three episodes into its first season and has pulled in strong numbers for each airing in its Monday 10:00pm time slot, so far averaging a 3.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. “We’re impressed with the imagination and creative direction of the entire team on ‘Revolution,’ not to mention the immediately strong response we got from the audience,” said NBC Entertainment president, Jennifer Salke. “Ordering the full season of this show is a pleasure. HBO announced today that Boardwalk Empire has been renewed for a fourth season. The Emmy Award-winning drama, which chronicles the life of "Nucky" Thompson during 1920s prohibition in Atlantic City, only recently began its third season on September 16, 2012. “Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their outstanding team continue to produce a stunning show that never fails to surprise and entertain,” said the network's president of programming, Michael Lombardo. “We are excited to bring this unique series back for a fourth season.” No time frame has been announced for the show's fourth season at the time of this writing. TNT has announced that sophomore drama Franklin & Bash has been renewed for a third season. The series stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as two street-smart lawyers and longtime friends who are recruited into a legendary, but uptight, law firm. “Franklin & Bash, with its winning cast and some of the sharpest dialogue on television, is a refreshingly clever, light-hearted take on the courtroom drama,” said network executive VP Michael Wright in a press release. “We look forward to spending another season with Breckin, Mark-Paul and the rest of the terrific cast and crew of Franklin & Bash.” The number of episodes ordered is not known, nor is the expected return date, but each of the show's previous two seasons have started in early June with a run of 10 episodes.
