The murder of this aspiring actress, also known as the "Black Dahlia," was one of the most publicized cases in the decade owing to the mystery and gruesomeness of the crime. She was found mutilated and her body sliced in half at the waist. Unfortunately, there are no suspects accused or brought to trial and it became one of the oldest unsolved crimes in LA. She died January 15, 1947.
