Public Morals is an American police drama set in New York City in the early 1960's in the Public Morals Division, where cops walk the line between morality and criminality as the temptations that come from dealing with all kinds of vice can get the better of them. The network has cancelled Public Morals, opting not to renew the freshman series for a second season. The police drama, which was written by, directed by, and starred Ed Burns, got off to a decent start with its premiere in August. Unfortunately viewership tapered off steadily over the course of the show's run, with its finale garnering just one quarter of its debut audience.
