The Bastard Executioner is an American historical fiction drama television series that tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward I charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again, he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all. The network has cancelled it after one season. Lukewarm reception from viewers was sighted as the reason for the show ending. Its premiere episode drew moderate ratings, but its numbers failed to see growth over the course of its 10-episode run.
