TNT announced yesterday that Falling Skies has been renewed for a third season. The Noah Wyle drama has been having a successful run since debuting last summer. Its first season finished as basic cable's top new series of 2011, and it currently ranks as basic cable's #1 summer drama among adults 18-49.
"Falling Skies is television storytelling at its very best, a powerful drama that's told on both an epic scale and on a deeply personal level," said TNT president Michael Wright. "With all the memorable and surprising moments taking place during the second season of Falling Skies, we can't wait to see what DreamWorks Television and Falling Skies' terrific production team and cast members have in store for season three."
The network has ordered 10 new episodes of the alien invasion drama for 2013. No premiere date is set, but a June return looks likely at this point.

These shows will bring stars from shows like "The Vampire Diaries", "Fringe", "The Big Bang Theory" and more to fans who couldn't get into the Comic-Con. Bayfront Park will host stars from the aforementioned shows from July 12 to 14, with all six Batmobiles (WOAH!!!), and a demo of the new "Lord of the Rings" video game.

In addition to having all the Batmobiles on display and game demos, we will be hosting interviews throughout the day on the Extra stage, as well as evening and night events such as screenings and live comedy and musical performances after the convention floor closes for the day. It's additive to the experience of being at the Con."

HBO has renewed Eastbound & Down for a fourth season. The comedy was previously rumored to be ending after its third season, which ended on April 15 of this year, but will now run for at least another eight episodes.
Although no exact return date has been announced, look for Season 4 of Eastbound & Down to kick off sometime in early 2013.

HBO has announced that its hit series True Blood has been renewed for a sixth season. No details were given regarding a time frame for its return, but expected Season 6 to air 12 new episodes beginning in the summer of 2013.

CBS has officially confirmed that freshman drama Unforgettable has been un-cancelled, and will return to the air for summer 2013.
The Poppy Montgomery-led series was one of a large number of fall shows that were cancelled back in May by the four major networks, but was the highest-rated of the bunch to get the axe.
Word is that 13 episodes have been ordered.

TNT has announced that Rizzoli & Isles has been renewed for Season 4. The crime drama will return in 2013 with another 15 episodes - matching the number ordered for its current third season. "Anchoring a new night in its third season, Rizzoli & Isles has proven itself to be a strong and enduring hit, not only in terms of the great storylines and performances, but also in terms of the show's stellar ratings," said network president Michael Wright. "We're thrilled that Rizzoli & Isles will continue to be a vital part of the TNT lineup."

TNT announced today that the 2012 update of Dallas has been renewed for a second season. Currently ranked as basic cable's number 1 new series, the return of the classic soap has thus far been a successful one. So far in its first season, Dallas is averaging 6.9 million weekly viewers.
15 episodes have been ordered for the show's second season, which will air sometime in 2013.

ABC and Canada's Global Television have renewed drama Rookie Blue for a fourth season. The cop series has gained a loyal following during its summer airings since debuting in June 2010. Like last season's pickup, the news comes just a few episodes into the show's current season.
Although the number of episodes is not known at this time, expect Season 4 of Rookie Blue to be its typical 13, which has been the standard for all three seasons so far. A Summer 2013 return is also expected.

Showtime is concluding comedy Weeds after eight seasons on the air. Since premiering in 2005, the series has had a successful run on the network, helping to lay the groundwork for other edgy cable comedies that followed it.
The show's final season premieres on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 10:00pm. Fans can expect a quick resolution to this year's assassination attempt cliffhanger, as well as a time jump and a return to the suburbs.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Jackson will play Pat Novak, a high-powered TV executive who is very active in the RoboCop world. Jackson joins Joel Kinnaman, who will play the title character, and Gary Oldman, who is confirmed to play the creator of the cyborg.
The film, which is based on the 1987 movie starring Peter Weller, will be directed by Jose Padilha. It's reportedly looking to start filming in September in Toronto.
The "RoboCop" franchise has been quite successful through the years. The initial film spawned two sequels, a TV series, cartoons, comic books and video games.
