The Vampire Diaries spin-off gets its back nine.
The CW has picked up a full season of The Originals, ordering nine additional episodes of the new drama. The spin-off of The Vampire Diaries premiered in October and has garnered solid ratings for the network over its first six episodes.

FX announced on the 6th that it has renewed American Horror Story for a fourth season. The cable network has ordered a new 13-episode miniseries in the franchise for 2014. The title of the next installment is yet to be announced.
The current installment, American Horror Story: Coven, is surpassing all of the show's previous seasons in ratings, averaging 7.74 million total viewers and 5.46 million in the important Adults 18-49 demographic. Nine new episodes of AHS: Coven remain, with the finale scheduled to air January 29, 2014.

ABC has ordered more of the new comedy.
ABC has picked up a full season of new comedy Trophy Wife. The network has ordered nine additional episodes of the series, bumping the total up to 22 for its freshman season.

Trophy Wife airs Tuesday nights as part of a 9:00pm comedy hour along with The Goldbergs, which was also picked up for a full season on Friday.

The Jennifer Love Hewitt drama ends after two seasons.
It is being reported that Lifetime has cancelled sophomore drama The Client List after two seasons. The reason behind the move is said to involve an impasse over the creative direction of the show between star/Executive Producer, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sony Pictures TV, which produces the show.

The Client List aired a total of 25 episodes between April 2012 and June 2013.

The new comedy will not get a full season.
Word is out that ABC will not be moving ahead with more episodes new comedy Back in the Game, effectively canceling the series. The Wednesday night sitcom, which premiered in September, is expected to air the remaining episodes in its initial order.

The hit series shows no signs of slowing down.
AMC announced Tuesday that hit series The Walking Dead has been renewed for a fifth season. The news comes two weeks after the horror drama's fourth-season premiere delivered record ratings with 20.2 million viewers (live + 3). Of those, 13.2 million were in the adults 18-49 demographic, which also set a record for any non-sports cable telecast.

The announcement also confirmed that new showrunner Scott Gimple will be returning for Season 5.

Suits Renewed For Season 4

The USA drama will return in 2014.
USA Network announced yesterday that Suits has been renewed for a fourth season. Sixteen additional episodes of the dramedy have been ordered for its new season in mid-2014.

In the meantime, Season 3 will conclude beginning in the first quarter of 2014 following the Olympics, when it will start airing its final six episodes.

Dads Gets A Full Season

FOX has ordered additional episodes of the new comedy.
FOX announced yesterday that it has picked up a full season of freshman series Dads. The network has ordered nine additional episodes of the Seth MacFarlane-produced comedy, topping its first season up to a full 22.

Dads is six weeks into its run, with its next new episode scheduled for November 5, 2013.

Showtime announced Tuesday that Masters of Sex has been renewed for a second season. The freshman drama is currently averaging 5.4 million weekly viewers through its first four episodes.


Season 2 of Masters of Sex will premiere in 2014 and consist of 12 hour-long episodes.

Showtime announced yesterday that Homeland has been renewed for a fourth season. The award-winning thriller continues to draw large audiences on Sunday nights, averaging 6.5 million weekly viewers so far in its third season and ranking as the network's #1 rated series.

Season 4 of Homeland will premiere in 2014 and consist of 12 one-hour episodes.
