The drama will return with 10 new episodes later this year.
USA Network announced today that Necessary Roughness has been renewed for a third season. The show is one of six summer original series pickups recently issued by the network - the others include SUITS, BurnNotice, Royal Pains, White Collar, and Covert Affairs.

USA has ordered 10 new episodes for Season 3 of Necessary Roughness. A premiere date is not known at this time, but the show still has the back half of its second season set to resume later this month on January 23, 2013.

The drama to conclude on Christmas Day.
TNT has cancelled Leverage after five seasons. The drama, which has been on the air since 2008, will leave fans with a present in the form of its final episode. The producers filmed it to work as a series finale in the event the show was not picked up for next season - which it turns out was a smart move and will give longtime fans some proper closure.

Psych Renewed For Season 8

Ahead of season 7's premiere, an eighth has been ordered.
USA has renewed comedy series Psych for an eighth season. The news comes two months ahead of the show's seventh season premiere, which is scheduled for February 27, 2013. Word is that eight new episodes have been ordered for season 8.

On the air since 2006, Psych will hit the 100 episode mark early next season.

AMC announced today that it has renewed The Walking Dead for a fourth season. The network also confirmed that current showrunner and executive producer, Glen Mazzara - who helmed the series for the past two seasons - will not be continuing with the show going forward. A new showrunner has yet to be announced.

It is being reported that TV Land has cancelled Retired At 35 after two seasons on the air. The comedy is the first of the network's original series to end, running for a total of 20 episodes between January 2011 and August 2012.

The CW has cancelled its new medical drama, Emily Owens, M.D. The low-rated series, which premiered just last month, was not picked up for any additional episodes but will still air all 13 of its original order.

FOX has cancelled the struggling drama after its first season.
FOX will not be renewing freshman drama The Mob Doctor after a low-rated first season. The struggling series got off to a slow start when it premiered this past September and never managed to pull itself out of its ratings funk.

All 13 episodes that were originally ordered will still air, but the some of the final episodes have been moved to Saturday nights.

It is being reported that BBC series Merlin, which airs on Syfy in the United States, has been cancelled after five seasons. The show will air its last episode in the UK this coming December, while the show's fifth and final season will premiere stateside on January 4, 2013.

Starz has cancelled drama Boss after two seasons, confirming today that the show will not return next year. The critically acclaimed series, which starred Kelsey Grammer as a mayor living with a degenerative neurological disorder, aired a total of 18 episodes since premiering in late 2011.

The military drama will not continue past its initial order.
ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that.

Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. This past Thursday's episode was its lowest-rated to-date, likely sealing its fate.
