Reports are out that ABC has pulled new series Time After Time from its schedule after just five episodes. The move does not come as much of a surprise after a slow start to the time travel drama, which has finished last against its Sunday night competition in each of its airings.
Based on the novel and movie of the same name, the series followed famed science fiction writer H.G. Wells and his time travelling adventures to modern day Manhattan in search of the murderous Jack the Ripper.
Today's cancellation sees Time After Time become the second show of the season to be pulled early in its run. CBS drama Doubt was yanked last month after just two episodes. Taking over its 9:00pm time slot for now will be episodes of Match Game beginning this Sunday, April 2.
It is being reported that AMC has renewed Humans for a third season. The good news comes one week after the sci-fi drama aired its sophomore season finale in the U.S., capping another eight-episode run that drew continued critical praise despite a marked drop in its viewership.
Co-produced by AMC in the states and Channel 4 in Britain, Humans takes place in a world where highly intelligent consumer-level androids, aka synths, are commonplace in society. They are so similar to their live counterparts that the technology is drastically transforming people's lives - in both good ways and bad.
Eight new episodes have been ordered for Season 3 of Humans, with production beginning this fall for an expected premiere in 2018.
It is being reported that Fox has made some scheduling changes to Lucifer, and will be moving the final four episodes of its current sophomore season to be part of Season 3. The result of that decision will see Season 2's tally drop from 22 episodes down to 18.
It's not all bad news though, as the four episodes being shifted to next season are said to be mostly standalone in nature and will not play a big part in the ongoing storyline. The five remaining episodes in Season 2 begin airing on May 1, with the season finale scheduled for May 29.
CBS announced today that Madam Secretary has been renewed for a fourth season. The political drama, which stars Téa Leoni as the Secretary of State, has seen its ratings dwindle this season as part of the network's Sunday night lineup.
The news comes one day after the show's executive producer, David Grae, signed a two-year overall deal with the network that will see him continue his work on Madam Secretary as well as develop new projects for the studio.

CBS announced today that Scorpion has been renewed for a fourth season. The action drama, which follows a group of geniuses helping to solve high-priority crimes, has remained a reliable performer on Monday nights. CBS announced today that MacGyver has been renewed for Season 2. The update of the classic action-adventure series joins Bull as the only two fall freshman dramas the network has decided to bring back for another season.
MacGyver has been a bit of a surprise success for the network. Expectations for the show going into its fall premiere were decidedly low after an early panning by critics, but its numbers have told a different story, improving its time slot vs. the previous year in both total viewers and the adults 18-49 demographic.

CBS announced today that Hawaii Five-0 has been renewed for an eighth season. The long-running cop drama continues to be a reliable performer on Friday nights, where it has been airing for the past four years. CBS announced today that Man With A Plan has been renewed for a second season. The freshman comedy, which premiered last fall, stars Matt LeBlanc in his first return to network television since his career-making turn as Joey Tribbiani on Friends and its subsequent spin-off Joey. The series is off to a solid start in its debut run, where it has established itself as a reliable performer on Monday nights.
Man With A Plan stars LeBlanc as a married man with three young children. His work as a contractor has seen his wife taking on most of the child-rearing responsibilities, but when she decides to go back to work, Adam has to adjust to his new role as a stay-at-home dad.

Mom's impressive run will reach the 100-episode milestone during Season 5, which will return this fall as part of the network's 2017-2018 lineup.
