Jimi Hendrix was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, who began playing guitar at the age of 15. According to the coroner’s report, died in London after choking on his own vomit while intoxicated with sedatives, but conflicting accounts from Hendrix’s companion the night of his death stirred skepticism. Scotland Yard opened an inquiry more than two decades later, but that ended inconclusively. He died September 18, 1970 at the age of 27.
