Bob Crane was an American actor, drummer, radio host, and disc jockey. Best-known as the star of the long-running TV series, Hogan’s Heroes, he had a decidedly kinky side. Having access to early versions of handheld videotape cameras, he recorded hundreds of sexual encounters with a bevy of women. The fun and games came to a grisly end on when he was found savagely beaten to death in an Arizona hotel room. Suspicion immediately fell on his sex filming cameraman, a friend named John Carpenter (not the famous film director), but Carpenter was later found not guilty of Crane’s killing. But whoever did it wanted to send a very personal message. The police reported that the killer ejaculated on Crane’s body after murdering him. He died June 28, 1978 at the age of 49.
