The streaming drama nabs an early pickup.
At this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con panel for The Man in the High Castle, it was announced that the streaming drama will be returning for a fourth season. The good news was also accompanied by the long-awaited premiere date for Season 3, which is now confirmed to hit Amazon Video on October 5.
The Man in the High Castle is an original production of the streaming service and has become one of its more popular and critically-acclaimed offerings. Loosely-based on the 1962 Philip K. Dick novel of the same name, the dystopian drama takes place in an alternate history where the United States has lost World War II and is now partitioned into three zones: a Japanese-occupied west coast, a Nazi-controlled east coast, and a neutral buffer zone that separates the two.
No return date has been set for Season 4, but a premiere in the second half of 2019 appears likely.

The sci-fi drama will not be back for Season 4.
It appears as if Colony has been cancelled after three seasons. The sad news comes just days before the sci-fi drama's season finale - which will now serve as its series ender.
The writing appeared to be on the wall when fans noticed a lack of representation at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, where the show has been known to have a regular presence. A tweet by Wes Tooke, who wrote numerous episodes each season, expressed sadness that they won't be able to finish their story.
The series had a solid run on USA Network, at one time ranking as cable television's most-watched scripted series on Thursday nights. Viewership has tapered off, however, with Season 3 hitting series lows that were obviously not up to the network's expectations.
Set in the near future where Los Angeles becomes occupied by outside invaders, Colony follows a former FBI agent and his wife as they risk everything to protect their family and bring liberty back to the people of earth.

Midnight
The supernatural western will be back in 2019.
At San Diego Comic-Con today, the creators and cast of Wynonna Earp announced that the supernatural western has been renewed for a fourth season. The good news, which was delivered at its convention panel for the third year in a row, comes the day following the premiere of Season 3.
The Canadian-American production, which was adapted from Beau Smith's comic book series, follows the great granddaughter of Wyatt Earp fighting to bring demons and other paranormal beings to justice.
The show's first two seasons have garnered high critical praise while amassing a steadily-growing loyal fan base. And judging from early feedback, Season 3 is set to deliver more of the thrills and laughs fans have come to expect from the series.
Look for Season 4 of Wynonna Earp in 2019.

Midnight
The comic-based drama will return for Season 2.
At San Diego Comic-Con today, it was announced that Marvel's Cloak & Dagger has been renewed by Freeform for a second season. The good news comes as the comic-based drama is winding down a successful freshman run that wraps up early next month.
The hour-long series premiered in June to critical praise and solid viewership numbers. Its first episode gave the network its largest debut audience in a number of years, and currently ranks as the summer's top cable drama in key demographics.
Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cloak & Dagger follows the lives of two teenagers named Tandy and Tyrone. While they come from very different backgrounds, they are awakened to newfound superpowers that mysteriously link them to each other.
Freeform has ordered another 10 episodes for Season 2, matching the length of its first outing. Look for a premiere in the spring of 2019.

Midnight
The Navy SEAL drama will not return for Season 3.
It is being reported that History has cancelled Six after two seasons. The Navy SEAL drama is currently in the midst of its sophomore run, with four episodes remaining until its now-series finale in early August.
The show premiered early last year and had a solid debut outing, airing eight episodes that delivered strong ratings for the cable network. Season 2, however, has not fared as well. Viewership through its first six episodes if off by nearly half compared to Season 1, making it difficult to warrant a third season pickup.
Inspired by true events, Six takes place in the high stakes world of the elite Navy Special Operations unit known as SEAL Team Six. Its members are tasked with the covert mission of eliminating a Taliban leader in Afghanistan, but the mission goes awry when they discover that a U.S. citizen is working with the terrorists.

The Conners will debut on ABC with no involvement from Roseanne Barr.
Less than a month after cancelling the Roseanne revival, ABC has confirmed that a spin-off featuring the rest of the cast will take its place this fall in the 8:00pm Tuesday time slot. The move had been expected for some time, as the network was looking for a way to continue the success of the Roseannecomeback, which impressively became the top comedy on television.
Expected to be called The Conners, the new series will take place following "a sudden turn of events" that will explain the removal of Roseanne from the show. The rest of the family will continue to tackle daily working-class life in Lanford - only in a completely new way.
Expect the feel of the new show to remain mostly the same, as the existing writing and producing team will also transition over to The Conners. ABC has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which is down from the 13 episodes ordered for Season 2 of Roseanne. Look for the premiere later this year.

No Season 3 for the time travel drama.
It's a sad day for the #Clockblockers out there, as NBC has once again cancelled Timeless. The move marks the second straight year that the network has pulled the plug on the series, only this time there will be no reversal of its decision.
Fans of the action drama had been holding out hope since last month's finale that a third season may be in the cards. And like last year, the show ended on another major cliffhanger that might not ever be resolved. I say 'might' because there have reportedly been discussions between NBC and the show's producers about a possible two-hour movie that would properly conclude the story and give fans the closure they undoubtedly would appreciate. Talks are still ongoing, but the likelihood of it actually happening is unknown.
Timeless premiered in 2016 with a good amount of momentum behind it. Created by two veteran producers, the series was given a high profile time slot on Monday nights along with heavy promotion. While it was well-received by critics, a solid start in the ratings was not long-lasting, and ratings slipped over the course of its run leaving only a limited audience who kept tuning in. And while NBC eventually decided to bring the show back for a second season, its numbers only got worse this time around.
Timeless follows a team of time travelers who were chasing down a mysterious criminal intent on changing the past in order to destroy America. The team works to keep up with the dangerous fugitive to stop his path of destruction, while being careful not to let their actions adversely affect the past.

AMC Renews 'The Terror'

By Midnight, in Renewals,

The anthology drama will return for Season 2.
AMC announced today that The Terror will be returning for a second season. The good news follows a solid debut outing this past spring that garnered critical acclaim and healthy viewership.
The show is the cable network's first to follow an anthology format, where each new season focuses on a contained story in a new setting with a different cast. While its first season followed the perilous voyage of the British Royal Navy in the 1800s, Season 2 will take place during World War II, this time following a mysterious specter that terrorize a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific.
AMC has ordered another 10 episodes for Season 2 of The Terror, which will return in 2019.

Midnight
The drama will return for Season 4 after all.
Lucifer fans can rejoice today, as Netflix has reportedly picked up the drama for a fourth season. The move continues the recent trend of revivals, proving that in the 2018 television landscape, the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" is more true than ever.
Originally cancelled by Fox a month ago, just days before its Season 3 finale, Lucifer quickly became a prime contender for revival after a strong outpouring of fan support. A #SaveLucifer campaign quickly gained traction online as other popular recently-cancelled shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Expanse found homes on new networks. Lucifer's producer, Warner Bros. Television, immediately made it known that they were shopping the series around to other outlets. Now one month later, they have reached a deal with the streaming giant that will see the show move online from its home on broadcast TV.
Based on a character from DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, the hour-long series follows Lucifer Morningstar, who has retired to Los Angeles from his duties as The Devil to indulge in a more carefree lifestyle. That is, until, he finds a new purpose in life and starts working alongside a homicide detective to solve crime and dispense justice.

The fantasy drama will conclude in 2019.
Freeform announced this evening that Shadowhunters will conclude after its current third season. The sad news comes midway through Season 3, which is slated to return with its remaining episodes next spring.
Part of the announcement also included a small silver lining in the form of a confirmed two-episode finale special. It is not clear if this will be part of the 12 episodes still left in the show's existing 22-episode order, or if it will air in addition to that. Either way, this gives the show's writers an opportunity to craft a proper ending to the series.
Based on Cassandra Clare's best-selling The Mortal Instrumentsbooks, the series follows a young girl who learns that she comes from a long line of human-angel hybrids known as Shadowhunters. After her mother is kidnapped, she becomes immersed in the world of demon hunting as she begins a journey of self-discovery in a new world filled with faeries, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves.
Look for the final episodes of Shadowhunters to begin airing in the spring of 2019.
