The paranormal drama will not return for Season 2.
Reports are out that Ghost Wars has been canceled by Syfy after one season. The paranormal drama premiered last fall with a 13-episode run that concluded back in January.
The series takes place in a remote Alaskan town that is overrun by an invading army of deadly paranormal beings. With its residents cut off from civilization and left to fend for themselves, local outcast Roman Mercer leads the fight to ensure their survival. Doing so means he must harness his repressed psychic powers in the face of dark secrets and a shadowy organization linked to a deeper mystery.

The medical drama continues its impressive run.
Late tonight ABC announced that Grey's Anatomy will be returning for a 15th season. The pickup not only extends the medical drama's already-impressive run, it also makes it the network's longest-running prime time scripted series of all time. That record was previously-held by the 1950s sitcom The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriett.
On the air since 2005, the veteran Shonda Rhimes hospital drama continues to be a strong performer in ABC's Thursday night lineup. While its ratings are not quite what they were in its heyday, the show still ranks as the network top drama in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.
Grey's Anatomy follows Dr. Meredith Grey and her coworkers at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. The staff of attending physicians, residents, and surgical interns are faced with all types of medical cases, from trivial to life-threatening. While furthering their careers, they learn and grow from the patients they treat and the relationships they form with each other.

NBC Cancels 'Taken'

By Midnight, in Cancellations,

NBC has pulled the movie-based drama from its schedule.
Taken's days appear to numbered, as NBC has removed all upcoming episodes of the show from its regular schedule, effective immediately. The move comes 11 episodes into the movie-based drama's sophomore run.
Acting as a prequel to the film franchise of the same name, Taken tells the origin story of a younger and hungrier Bryan Mills. Working to overcome a devastating personal tragedy, the former Green Beret finds his way into a career as a CIA operative, allowing him to utilize his very particular and dangerous set of skills.
The series premiered as a mid-season entry last year, garnering modest ratings for the network on Monday nights. Its debut outing earned it a Season 2 pickup with a lengthier run, but a move to Fridays only served to hurt its ratings this time around.
For fans wanting to see how Taken plays out, it is being reported that its remaining five episodes will air on Saturdays beginning May 26.

The veteran drama will conclude next year.
It looks as if the end of Homeland is near. In an interview with Howard Stern earlier today, star Claire Danes appeared to confirm that the long-running drama will indeed not continue past next season - the show's eighth.
Stern was first to bring up the fact that Homeland would be coming to a close next  year, and Danes concurred, responding simply with, "yeah, that's it." The news doesn't come as a complete surprise, as showrunner Alex Gansa has gone on the record in the past about likely wrapping things up in Season 8.
The series was last picked up in 2016, when two additional seasons were ordered at the same time as part of an overall deal with Fox 21 TV Studios. While Showtime has not officially commented on the show's future, it appears in all likelihood that Season 8 will be its final act.

The cop drama will continue in 2018-2019.
CBS announced today that Blue Bloods has been renewed for a ninth season. The long-running Tom Selleck police drama has been a Friday night staple on the network, where it continues to garner consistently-healthy ratings deep into its run.
The series follows the Police Commissioner of New York, who runs his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief.
Season 9 of Blue Bloods will see the series approach the 200-episode milestone. While a standard 22-episode order will not quite get it there, an order of 23 episodes - which it received in Season 3 - will see it hit that mark.

The veteran cop drama will be back in the fall.
CBS announced today that Hawaii Five-0 has been renewed for a ninth season. The long-running cop drama continues to be a reliable Friday night staple, where it has been airing for the past five years. Today's pickup will ensure the show reaches the 200-episode milestone in 2019.
A reboot of the classic police procedural that aired from 1968 to 1980, Hawaii Five-0 follows Officer Steve McGarrett, who has returned to Hawaii to join up with Danny Williams as part of an elite branch of the Hawaii Police Force. This season saw a couple of original cast members replaced but ratings did not take much of a hit, making today's renewal for the 2018-2019 season an easy decision.
Look for Season 9 of Hawaii Five-0 to premiere this fall.

Midnight
The political drama will be back for 2018-2019.
CBS announced today that Madam Secretary has been renewed for a fifth season. The political drama, which stars Téa Leoni as the Secretary of State, has seen its ratings decline considerably the past few years but has remained a Sunday night staple nevertheless.
Look for Season 5 of Madam Secretary this fall.

Midnight
The action series will return in 2018-2019.
CBS announced today that MacGyver has been renewed for Season 3. The action-adventure series has been a decent performer for the network on Friday nights.
An update of the 1980s classic, the series was somewhat of a surprise success for the network when it premiered in 2016. Initial expectations were decidedly low after an early panning by critics, but viewers have continued to tune in, helping CBS improve its time slot vs. 2015 in both total viewers and the adults 18-49 demographic.
Look for Season 3 of MacGyver this fall.

Midnight
The Marvel drama earns another pickup.
Netflix announced today that Marvel's Jessica Jones has been renewed for a third season. The good news comes a month after the release of the superhero drama's sophomore season, which bowed in early March to more of the same critical praise it garnered in Season 1.
The series follows the titular character, who is a troubled former superhero rebuilding her life by starting her own detective agency in New York City's Hell's Kitchen. After dealing with her tormentor in Season 1, Season 2 sees Jessica starting to once again put her life back together while dealing with a new threat.
No premiere date has been announced for Season 3 of Jessica Jones, though fans surely hope the wait will be shorter than the two years in between the show's first two seasons.

Midnight
The veteran comedy will return in 2019.
HBO announced today that Silicon Valley has been renewed for a sixth season. The good news comes three week's into the the long-running comedy's fifth-season.
Created by Mike Judge, the award-winning half-hour series continues to garner critical acclaim year in and year out. Its audience numbers, though, have taken a noticeable hit in Seasons 4 and 5, having dropped roughly half of its viewers compared to its first three seasons.
Partially inspired by Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late '80s, the comedy follows the lives of a group of high tech workers in the Palo Alto area of California. While this group of social outcasts may be the most qualified to succeed in this modern environment, they are not necessarily capable of handling the success.
Look for Season 6 of Silicon Valley in the spring of 2019.
