Showtime announced today that Homeland has been renewed for a third season. The award-winning series has been a solid hit for the network, continuing to garner praise from both critics and audiences alike. Four episodes into its fourth season, ratings have also been performing well, showing growth over its premiere run.
“The writers, cast and crew of HOMELAND continue to create a remarkably entertaining and suspenseful roller coaster ride, growing audiences week after week” said Showtime's President of Entertainment, David Nevins. “We can't wait for our viewers to experience what unfolds through the rest of season two. Our partners at Fox 21 have been tremendous, and we are thrilled to begin the planning for HOMELAND's third season.”
The network has ordered 12 new episodes for Season 3 of Homeland. Production is scheduled to begin next spring, pointing to a likely late 2013 premiere.
