It was announced last week that the previously - cancelled Ripper Street has been revived and will return for a third season. The British drama originally got the axe late last year when BBC One decided not to continue on with the series. However today's news confirms that a new deal was signed with online giant Amazon, which has acquired UK subscription streaming rights.
U.S. audiences will be pleased to learn that BBC America is on-board to co-produce the show and will continue to air new episodes of Ripper Street's third season. No return date has been set for the drama, but production on Season 3 will begin this May.
