The watch slides open and standsup and was given to Sukeshi when she was just two years old byher late mother. Sukeshi was born with disabilities after hermother took the drug Thalidomide, a pill that at that time wasprescribed during pregnancy to combat sickness. Born inUganda, Sukeshi's mother Rama fought hard for her daughter tobe able to lead an independent life and for Sukeshi the watchsymbolises her efforts. No longer ticking and with its ornatecasing dull and worn, Steve joins forces with Kirsten Ramsayto bring the little timepiece back to its former glory.Thefinal visitors to the barn are Kegham and his daughter Karine,with a sporting trophy for the attention of silversmith BrentonWest. Now 97, Kegham won the trophy three times in the 1950swhen he was part of a tennis club in Cyprus. To Kegham, thetrophy evokes memories of proud, happy times playing oncourt, and seeing it revived brings friends and faces from hispast back into sharp relief.
