Geordie's plans are further thwarted whenSidney's old flame,Amanda Hopkins [Morven Christie] arrives inGrantchester while Guy is away on business.Geordie calls onSidney for help following an apparent suicide at Sidney's oldCambridge College.Valentine Lyall, a fellow at CorpusChristi, has been found dead: the result of a long fall fromthe spire ofKing's College chapel.
