The Royal Court is delighted by the arrival of a healthy Princeof Wales, but Victoria finds herself paralysed by aninexplicable sorrow after a difficult birth, and is unable tobond with her son. Things are not made easier when tragic newsarrives from Coburg and Albert is forced to depart for hischildhood home - the first time Victoria and Albert have beenapart since their wedding.
