For theirfirst pattern challenge the judges have chosen a Dior-inspired‘wiggle dress' designed to hug the female form. It requiresprecision and accurate darts, and any diversion from theinstructions could result in an ill-fitting garment.Next theirdesign skills and sewing instincts are tested in theTransformation Challenge, when the sewers are tasked withtransforming three second-hand items of denim clothing into asingle, stylish new garment in just 90 minutes. For their finalchallenge, the mannequins are gone and replaced with real livemodels who the sewers must flawlessly fit with amade-to-measure jumpsuit.
